Iowa United Prep four-star big man Derek “Beau” Daniels committed to Houston men’s basketball Monday afternoon, per Joe Tipton on X.
The announcement came a day after four-star point guard Darrell Davis of SPIRE Academy announced his commitment to the Cougars.
He’ll be the second Iowa United Prep recruit to join Houston in as many years, following freshman big man Arafan Diané, who played there last year as the nation’s top center.
Daniels also received offers from Maryland, Auburn, Boston College and Ohio State.
The 6-foot-7 Hyattsville, Md., native becomes the third member of coach Kelvin Sampson’s 2027 high school recruiting class, joining Davis and four-star combo guard Oneal Delancy of Montverde Academy.
