Houston women’s golf competed in its third competition of the spring season on Monday and Tuesday, traveling to Las Vegas for the Lady Luck Invitational.

The Cougars placed third as a team overall in a competition filled with high-level programs, with 10 of the top-50 teams in the nation being present at the Las Vegas Country Club.

Houston ended with a score of 826 through the two-day, 72-hole event and fell in the national rankings from No.30 to No.33.

Junior Maelynn Kim tied for fifth in the individual rankings, finishing with a score of 217 and getting six birdies to get her third-straight top 10 performance to open the spring season.

Senior Moa Svedenskiöld placed eighth with a score of 218 to earn her fourth consecutive top-10 performance of the season.

Svedenskiöld shot 5-over par during the first round, but made a comeback in the next two rounds to end up at a 2-over par for the whole tournament, including going -3 in her final round, which was the best out of all the Cougars in that round.

Senior Natalia Saint Germain placed 23rd, earning a score of 229 after getting three birdies during day one of the competition.

No.16 UCF ended up getting first in the competition by 13 points, with Kent State junior Veronika Kedroňová getting first for the individuals.
