Amid one of its most successful campaigns, Houston earned another accolade on Tuesday, ranking No. 25 nationally.

This is the first time that the Cougars have been nationally ranked by the Intercollegiate Women’s Soccer Organization for Coaches.

Houston is on a three-game winning streak, having beaten last season’s national semifinalist TCU (Oct. 22) and UCF in Orlando (Oct. 25), before punctuating it with a win against No. 15 Kansas (Oct. 30), its first time beating a ranked opponent since 2021.

The Cougars have now won seven conference games, their most since 1999, when they won nine in Conference USA.

With a spot in the Big 12 tournament secured, Houston will look to keep its momentum going in its regular-season finale on Thursday, Nov. 5, when it takes on No. 8 Baylor in Waco.
