The 2026 season for Houston soccer is almost here, and with the non-conference schedule announced on Monday, June 22, the full schedule is now complete.
It kicks off on Aug. 6, when they take on crosstown rival Rice at Holloway Field in an exhibition game. The season officially begins on Aug. 12 in Fort Myers, Fla. against ASUN Graphite Division Champion Florida Gulf Coast.
The Cougars return home at the Carl Lewis International Track & Field Complex for a two-game homestand against Northwestern State on Aug. 20 and Tarleton State on Aug. 23. Houston then travels west to take on Abilene Christian on Aug. 27 before returning home to face SEC Tournament Champion Vanderbilt on Aug. 30.
Houston then faces a familiar opponent on Sept. 3, when they travel to Tennessee to take on American Athletic Conference champion Memphis, before wrapping up non-conference play with a two-game homestand against Sam Houston and Scott Street neighbor Texas Southern on Sept. 10 and 13, respectively.
After a five-day rest period, the Cougars begin Big 12 play with a road trip to Manhattan, Kan. to face Kansas State on Sept. 18 before having a three-game homestand against Iowa State (Sept. 24), Oklahoma State (Sept. 27) and West Virginia (Oct. 2).
Houston will next have a three-game road trip, going up against Arizona (Oct. 8), Arizona State (Oct. 11) and Cincinnati (Oct. 16), before returning home on Oct. 22 to face the Big 12 regular-season champion and national semifinalist TCU.
The Cougars will travel to UCF in Orlando on Oct. 25 and Kansas at home on Oct. 30, before wrapping up their regular season on Nov. 5 against Baylor in Waco.
