Maelynn Kim at the NCAA Championships | UH Athletics

After three seasons at Houston, senior Maelynn Kim announced her commitment to SMU women’s golf on Instagram Saturday.

The Katy native helped secure the Cougars’ first team trip to the NCAA Championships in May, tying for 14th at the NCAA Simpsonville Regional with a 2-under-par 214.

Kim also recorded a third-place finish at the 2026 Big 12 Championships with a 3-under-213 finish.

Earlier in the spring, she posted the best finish of her career, tying for second at the Collegiate Invitational at Guadalajara Country Club with the same score.

Overall, Kim, the 2025 Western Amateur Champion, recorded six top-10 finishes for Houston, which returns four golfers under new coach Rachel Pollock.
