Houston tennis earned its first league honors since joining the conference, as senior doubles pair Sophie Schouten and Chems Doha Zeghloui were named to the All-Big 12 doubles second team.

The duo finished with a 13-6 overall record, leading the team to an 11-0 start for the first time since 1990 with eight straight sweeps for the first time in program history.

What’s next?

Zeghloui, Schouten, Elizaveta Morzova and Gabriella Cortes are out of eligibility. As of now, the Cougars who could return are rising seniors Iva Sepa, Valeriia Krokhotina and Petja Drame as well as sophomore Alexia Lavinia Puiac.

Houston’s next tennis coach search is underway, with Katarina Admovic becoming the head coach at her alma mater, Oklahoma State.
