Freshman Sean Aigboboh recorded a personal-best time of 20.54 seconds in the men’s 200 meters, winning the event and setting a meet record as Houston track & field competed at 44 Farms Invitational at E.B. Cushing Stadium.
In the men’s high jump junior Antrea Mita cleared 2.16 meters, to secure his first outdoor victory of the season.
Meanwhile, freshman Shieana Hall secured the win in the women’s triple jump with a wind-aided mark of 13.26 meters.
Aigboboh’s podium day continued as he finished second in the men’s 100-meters with a wind-aided time of 10.21. The Ireland native, also competed alongside sophomore Darius Rodgers, senior Danarrion Ard and freshman Michah Washington to secure third in the 4×100-meter with a time of 39.39.
The women’s 4×100-meter squad of junior Ruth Agadama, senior Matilde Ochoa, sophomore Taylor Jackson and sophomore Norah Nwonumah ran a season-best time of 44.96 to secure a third-place finish.
Sophomore Cleo Agyepong, senior Kaycee McCoy and sophomore Evina Panagiotou secured three more podium finishes on the women’s side.
McCoy secured third in the 100-meter hurdles with a wind-aided time of 13.15.
In the field, sophomore Evina Panagiotou took home third in the pole vault with a clearance of 4.20 meters. Sophomore Cleo Agyepong finished second overall in the women’s shot put with a mark of 15.82 meters.
In the decathlon, sophomore Owen Levesque finished sixth overall with a personal-best total of 7,172 points. He recorded personal bests in the long jump, high jump and 110-meter hurdles on the way to the mark.
Sophomore Colton Harrison placed 11th with a personal-best score of 6,974 points. He secured personal bests in the 100 meters and 1,500 meters and posted the top mark in discus.
Next, the team will compete Tom Tellez Alumni Invitational, a home meet at the Carl Lewis International Complex April 17-18. This week, decathlon competitors will participate in the Mt. SAC Relays while the men’s steeplechase and women’s 800 meter events will take place at the Wake Forest Invitational.
