Kent State forward Delrecco Gillespie announced Saturday afternoon on Instagram that he has committed to Houston and has one year of eligibility remaining.

He averaged 17.7 points, 11.3 rebounds and 1.2 blocks per game during his fourth season with the Golden Flashes, earning All-MAC First Team honors.

Gillespie finished the 2025-26 season tied with freshman Cameron Boozer of Duke and Washington’s Hannes Steinbach for the most double-doubles in the NCAA with 22.

The 6-foot-8 senior started all 34 games in his final of four seasons with Kent State. Just 11 games into his sophomore campaign, Gillespie suffered a season-ending knee injury, which granted him an additional year of eligibility.
