Houston track & field takes on NCAA Indoor National Championships, all three Cougars earn All-American honors

Three Houston track and field members competed at the NCAA indoor national championships in Fayetteville, Ark., March 13-14, and all three took home All-American honors at the meet.

Junior Antrea Mita competed in the high jump, senior Kaycee McCoy made her first national championship appearance in the 60-meter hurdles and graduate Jamar Marshall Jr. ended his career with his fourth national championship appearance in the 60-meter hurdles.

Mita places seventh, earning second career first team All-American

Mita headed into the weekend looking to earn his third career All-American team, previously getting first and second team All-American in both indoor and outdoor in 2025.

Mita jumped a height of 2.15 meters, which tied him for seventh and earned him his second career first team All-American honor and third straight All-American selection.

Marshall ends illustrious Houston career as five-time All-American

Marshall competed in the final meet in his collegiate career, where he placed 11th with a time of 7.59 in the 60-meter hurdles, earning second-team All-American honors.

Marshall ends his Houston career as the record holder for both UH and the Big 12 conference in the 110m hurdles, as well as tied for No.6 all-time in NCAA history.

McCoy earns first career All-American honors

In the 60-meter hurdles, McCoy placed 14th overall with a time of 8.31 to get her first-ever All-American selection, earning a spot on the second team.

This officially marks the end of the 2026 indoor track season, as Houston now will look forward to the outdoor season kicking off in a few weeks.

This season saw many levels of success for UH, with three All-Americans and four new school records set, which they will look to continue into the outdoor season.

The first meet of the outdoor season will be the Kirk Baptiste Invitational hosted by the Cougars at Carl Lewis International Complex on March 19.
