Houston soccer junior goalkeeper Sierra McCluer earned another collegiate accolade, taking the Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week award on Wednesday.
McCluer earned the achievement after being the only goalkeeper in the Big 12 last week to post two complete-game clean sheets, shutting out TCU 2-0 at home on Thursday, Oct. 22, and UCF 1-0 on the road on Sunday, Oct. 25.
The wins helped the Cougars reach 10 victories for the season, their first double-digit win total since 2021, and six conference wins, their most since 2001 in Conference USA.
This is McCluer’s third Conference Goalkeeper of the Week honor after winning two with Stephen F. Austin in the Southland Conference, where she spent her first two seasons. The honor is Houston’s second-ever Big 12 Goalkeeper of the Week honor and its fourth overall Big 12 weekly honor.
