It was announced Monday evening that Houston freshman guard Isiah Harwell plans to enter the NCAA transfer portal, per Jon Chep of DraftExpress.

Harwell, a five-star recruit, was a coveted member of Houston’s 2025 high school recruiting class alongside guards Kingston Flemings, Bryce Jackson and forward Chris Cenac Jr.

Harwell’s 2025 offseason was slowed as he recovered from a knee injury.

The Pocatello, Idaho native came off the bench to begin the season and ultimately, in all his appearances.

He appeared in 32 games with the Cougars, averaging 3.6 points, 2.0 rebounds and 0.6 steals while logging 13.8 minutes per contest. Harwell struggled with efficiency, shooting 27.9% from the floor and 27.1% from beyond the arc.

The transfer portal officially opens on April 7.
