Houston men’s and women’s cross country teams each placed 10th in the 2025 Big 12 Championship on Friday at Rim Rock Park in Lawrence, Kan.
The women’s 10th place finish became the new best for the squad in the Cougars’ Big 12 tenure, as it was headlined once again by redshirt freshman Addison Hite’s 45th overall finish at 21:00.1.
Sophomore Candace Patterson followed 11 spots later in 56th at 21:24.3, while sophomore Lily Campos finished 75th at 22:02.0.
Freshman Sophia Nguyen finished 83rd overall at 22:15.7, and sophomore AnnClaire Cop capped off scoring for the Cougars in finishing 117th at 23:13.0.
The men’s squad posted its third straight 10th place finish at the Big 12 Championship, as it was led by freshman Zac Miller’s 48th overall finish at 24:31.0, extending his top finisher streak for the Cougars to four events on the season.
Sophomore Remay Abraha placed 67th overall at 25:06.2, while junior Patrick Flowers followed four spots later in 71st with a time of 25:16.7.
Sophomore Caden Thurman immediately followed Flowers by finishing 72nd at 25:19.7, and junior Aaron Crittenden ultimately set the mark of top 75 finishes for the men’s team with a finish on the mark at 25:23.0.
Up next, the Cougars will continue their postseason journey as they head to Fayetteville, Ark. to compete in the NCAA South Central Regional Championships on Friday, Nov. 14.
