No. 8 Houston men’s basketball already had a 21-point advantage before senior guard Milos Uzan hit the Cougars’ first 3-pointer with just under 12 minutes remaining.

He was the only Cougar to make a triple until the four-minute mark of Houston’s 79-55 win over UCF on Wednesday, as the rest of the team shot 1-of-15 from beyond the arc.

Houston still shot nearly 55% from the field, with 42 points in the paint, and kept the Knights from scoring a field goal for over 10 minutes in the second half.

Graduate forward Kalifa Sakho entered the game within the first four minutes, recording 22 minutes, his season high. He finished with seven points and seven rebounds, second only to freshman forward Chris Cenac Jr., who recorded 10 rebounds and 14 points for his fourth double-double of the season.

Freshman guard Kingston Flemings led all scorers with 18 points and six assists.

Next, the 20-2 Cougars travel to face BYU on Feb. 7 with tipoff scheduled for 9:30 p.m.
